What can Electronic shelf labels be used for?
Some retailers justify electronic shelf labels by cutting the cost of printing labels and savings in staff time. However, internal justifications are increasingly being based more on the potential to increase revenue and profitability rather than purely on cost savings. Examples include time of day offers where the offers change as different types of shoppers visit the store. Another example is dynamic pricing on certain products such as fruit based on stock levels or even weather conditions.
