According to a report recently published by retail analysis firm RetailSales Apple’s stores generate five to ten times as much revenue as upscale clothing stores, nearly seven times as much as Best Buy, and nearly six to nine times as much as Costco. It also generates about twice as much revenue per square metre as Tiffany.
The report also points out that Apple has seen a 49.1% jump year-over-year in its sales per square metre and a 70.5% growth in its retail revenues overall. That works out at £34K per sq metre.
Apple is continuing its expansion not only in its store count, but also increasing the size of many existing stores. Be interesting to see if they can continue with such a high revenue per sq metre.
